The Russian Consul discredits the news of Russian cruisers beinjr seen near Thursday Island, and the Japanese Consul has received no advices about the likelihood of Russians feeing "n that vicinity. BRISBANE, Oct. 8. The Government Resident has been for <a cruise in the ketch Melbidir, and white at Badu Island the natives told him they had seen the war vessels, but the information is scant.
