The. intention of thieves to rob the Commissioner Street branch of the African Hanking Corporation in Johannesburg becoming known to detectives, the latter awaited the advent of the robl ors. Tlk'.v shot one of four armed nun who attempted to "hold up" Ihe bank during the afternoon. Two escaped in a caib, but were captured later, after one had been abandoned. Another man, su]>posed to he the fourth, h.is Ikkh arrested.
