S. Reeve, 374 acres, o.r.p. ; sec- 1 lion i>, block 9, Upper Wnitui'a. 0150 ucres, o.r.p. ; swriion -1, block 10, Opaku, J. McClark and I{. Hunger, 1104 axircs, cash ; sections 10 and 11, block 14, Opaku, E. P. Make, 1770 acres, cash ; section 2, block 2, Opaku, H. Prebenson, (315 acres, l.i.p. ; section 3, block 11, Ohura, John Morris, 1462 acres, l.i.p. ; section 8, block (5, Waitara, T. W. ajnd M. McMullen, 1462 acres, l.i.p. ; section 6, block 2, Wai tara, Win. Schneider, acres,, l.i.p. Section 5, block 10, and 8, block G, l-pper Waitai'a, aio to be subject to a reduction in aivia by tJio land proposed to be taken for forest preservation.
Jt was resolved that value for improvements on section 5, block Waitara, be paid to the outgoing tenants, less amount due to the Crown.
Provisional titles were grafted on payment of the balance of purchase money 0 n section 4, block 10, Opaku, and sections 10 anid 11, block 14, Opaku, as the required improvements havo already been effected. It was decided that section 6, block 2, Mahoe, be subject to, amendment by deviation of the Poarungi Koad. Transfers were asked for as follows J. I). Dodd to W, and 11. Carter, section 4, block 14, Waro ; V. 11. Adlam to V. H. Adlam and E. A. Adlam, section 4, block 11, Cape ; (J. 11. Lloyd to A. E. Speck sections 9 n®d 10, block 5, Ngatimaru ; Wm. McLachlan and A. W Wood, sections 12 and 13, J), Oniona ; Young and Howard to J. 0. Shaughnessey, sections 17, 18, and 22, block 8, Omotia. It was decided that the transfer McLachlan to A. W. Wood be agreed to, and as the time of residence required will expire next May further residenco on the section by the transferee wifl be dispensed with, providing his son, now holding land adjoining, continue to reside on the land. All the other applications were granted. Applications to sub-let were agrecij to in the cases of C. Hodge to Wm. Newman, section , r >, block 15, Pouatu, and J. Wiggins to It. Walker, section 4, block 15, Ngatimnru. A schedule of selectors in arrears to whom extension 0 { time had boen grantid was laid on the table. Section 14, block 13, Miuii, was declared forfeited owing to non-pay-ment of rent.
| Messrs Weston and Weston applied on behalf of Mrs M. C. Callughan that the closed rood l between part section 67, Grey District, and N.R. No. 2 be granted to her by way of exchange for the land taken from section 67, for the Elliot Road. The board saw no reason for departing from iits previous resolution to dispose of the land by sale. Messrs Malone, McVeagh and Anderson, on behulf of Messrs H. W. Sexton and G. Cliff, asked that parts pf the old Avenue Rood i n section 03, Grey District, be granted to them in exchange for land taken om sections 7 and 13, district. Consideration was deferred It was further decided to declare 19 sections in blocks 5, 6, 9, 10, and 14, Mahoe S.D., and 28 sections in blocEs 8, G, 7, 8, anid 10, War 0 S.D., the latter in areas of from 170 to 1710 acres, and Comprising 10,797 acres, to be open for s a le or selection lUHler part 3 of the Land. Act, 1892, and that the sections be classified for the purpose of section 2, of the Bush anid Swamp Crown Land Settlement Act, 1903, as second-class heavy bush lands.
A request preferred by the Framkley Road Board Was 1 acceded to that the Portion of the closed Holsworth Road between tho present and old Franklev Road be re-opened. On the recommendation of the Crown Conunissiomer it was decided to re-open the town sections, Waitara, for sale, price not to be less than £5 ; also that tho prices for sections in Manaia ibo adopted as scheduled, and tihat the prjco of sections in Tai'ata be fixed by the Commissioner.
The unsold sections in the townships of Tikorangi, Huirangi, Manganui, and Matnitawa are to be reoffered.
The Crown Dairy Company having applied for sections 81 and 82, block 9, Opunake, adjoining their present property, the application was- granted.
In the of the expenditure of accrued "thiivls," the Stratford County Council submitted u schedule amounting to £l3O 10s (id, and the Hawora County Council £Bl2 9s 13 d. Mr McCluggngß presented a petition l from the settlers om the Makuhti Road, praying that the "thirds" in their district may be spent in widening und taking off corners on that road.—The board agreed to this. Tho surrender of section 3, block 12, Opaku, in the estate of 11. Swan (deceased) w a s accepted.
Sections 22 and 23, Taniukawa, 717 acres, mid section 8, block 5, 1 aniakuwu, 2125 acres, now open for sale, were recommended for reservation for forest protection. Mr McCluggaige presented a resolution passed by an indtgnation meeting hold at Whangamouiona on August 27th with reference to the notices sent to settlers, asking for payment of the half-yearly rent due in advance on July Ist, which the meeting considered was a high-handed proceeding, considering tho fact that they had applied to the board for a remission of rent on account of loss by silips, floods, etc.—No action was taken.
Other routine business was transacted, such as extension 0 f time for Payment of rent, and the board rose.
