Italian Love Story.

An extraordinary affair has Juft taken place at Tunin, the heroint being a young girl aged seventeen, of remarkable beauty, named Francesca JaCovelli. The course of true. love did not run smooth between her and Felice Arpone, a youth of ninej teen, who resolved to carry hor off iby force. He put his project into execution as the (air one, accompanied by two sisters and several other girls were leaving church after the morning service. A iband of fifteen young men surrounded the girls and hustled Francesca into a carriage which was j waiting close by. Her companions made a determined attempt at rescue, but the young fellows ungallantly drew revolvers and fired, one of the girls being slightly injured. The street was full 0 f people at the time of the occurrence, but no cinc had the courage to interfere, and the carriage contain Tig the couple started oil, the girl scre a ming and strugl- - violently with Arpone. A party of Carabineers whose services were requisitioned started in pursuit, and finally nan the fugitives to earth. As they burst into the apartments into which the still struggliag Francesca had been taken, Jacovelli is said t 0 have drawn a revolver and threatened to shoot the signoriina dead on the spot Hhe were : not allowed to wed her. The girljj eldest brother, however, knocked Arpone senseless with the toutt-end of a rifle, whereupon the maiden threw herself over the prostrate form <lf toer lover awi swore she would never marry anyone else. Arpone was Arrested, and is now lodged in gaol.
