The dentil is recorded of Mr Wal- ' U.T Ladley, for many years Inspector of Schools in Nelson. Tho death is announced at Palmerston North of Mr J. Foster ivells, aged 81 years. He was a 1 veteran ol tjhc Maori War, held colonial and Imperial medals, and ' iought through the Wellington and 1 rtunganui campaigns. He leases four sons and three daughters.
