Dea/ns (Canterbury) ant ] Stead (Southland) : half, Iving'(otago) ; forwards, wing, Porteous (Olago), front rankers, Spiers and Casey (Otago). Fanning, Brunsden and Roddick (Canterbury;, and Corbett and Learmont (West Coast). North Island team :—Full-back, Furrio (Manawatu) ; three-quarters, Wallaco (Wellington), Ilimter (Taranaki), I). McGregor (Wellington) ; five-eighths, Myn o tt (Taranaki), and Erekana (Hawke's Bay) ; half, Roberts (Wellington) ; wing forward, Guy (Taranaki) ; forwards, P. McMjnii (Manawatu), Watkins (Wellington), Glasgow and Glenn (Taranaki). Cross (Wellington), Seeling and Nicholson (Auckland), Poverty Bay defeated Hawke's Bay on Saturday at Gisborne by twenty points to three. The visitors were unable to bring nearly as strong a team as was originally clioK-.n, but made a very hard fight of it and played up -well to th' finish, the game being interesting throughout. The match Wangnnul v, !\lunuwatu resulted in a win for iUanawatu by nine points to five, alter an interesting game. Furrie and Stalker played greut games for i\lalmwvitu. tile former scoring two tries and the latter one. A. MrMinn missud all the kicks at goal, including several marks and penalties. .Just in timo Fremont made a clever opening and run' for Wan ganui, nod passing to Thompson ai Ihe right moment the latter scored and converted.
