t RESCUE OF IMPRISONED ASSASSIN. St. PETERSBURG, September 5. It is reported here that two reputed gendarmes, representing a Minister's written authority, obtained the release of Sasmoff, accused of the murder of M. de Plehve (late Russian Minister for the Interior) on the pretext that he was wanted to at- ' tend an examination in Court. The "- three men then disappeared.
