NELSON, Septwnbar 8. t At tihe Harbour Board meeting today the chairman (Mr Gruhwp) re. ferrod to the recent action of Leslie Reynolds versus the Board, Jhe intimated appeal to the Privy Council, and the negotiations that had taken place relative to * settlement. It was resolved to pay Mr Reynolds £250 in complete settle _* ment, each party paying its own costs. That amount had been a. on in tiho negotiations. Ten applications wero received for the post of harbourmaster and pilot, but two withdrew. Tho board in ' committee scli'ctod ono applicant, but decided Jlnit Uio name should not be disclosed til! an Agreement is signed. Nine applications were received for the position of resident engineer but tho question of appointment was postponed. A report was received as to tho reclamation of the mudflats, but no definite action was taken ' -
