A Nice Point.
DUNEDIN, September 1. At Hilton to-day, during the hearing •of a case against threshing mill owners, & witness incidentally drew attention to the fact that' Mr J. A. Scott, was was conducting a case for the union, was a solicitor. Mr Scott urged that he had abandoned the law, and had never practised it, 'but the president said has name jwas oai the roll and he could practice at amy time on payment of fees. He thought nothing was clearer in the act than that a solicitor could not appear without the consent of all parties. Mr Scott, who is president of the union, could not therefore take any part in the cose.
