Flower and Bulb Show.
The spring (lower and bulb show and annual sale of work in connection with St. Mary's Sunday School opened in the schoolroom yesterday afternoon and was continued during the evening. Though the unpropitious weather probably kept away a number of people there was still a very good attendance of tho public, and much "interest was manifested in the excellent disnlays at the several stalls. The various stalls were attractively arrayed and in charge of the following ladies : Fancy stall : Mrs Dockrill awl Misses Pelham and Preston. Produce stall : Mcsdames Skinner and Fleetwood, Misses Mace and L. Skinner.
Afternoon tea : Misses Skeot, Bedford, Wqbster, Skinner, and Evans. Miss Devenish was in charge of tl>e stall of pot plants and daffodils shown for Bade. .Very flno collections of blooms were sent in for exhibition by Mosul's Newton King, Morshead Nursery | Company, p. Cooper (Wellington). Heskcth and Aiken (Auckland). Air N. King obtained first award for a collection of bulbs anid flowers, Miss Hirst coming second. Mrs Bloakley, of Urenui, gained most points in cut blooms, and Miss Devenish in pot plants. Mr C. W. Govett 11 exhibit of narcissi was very line, and Dr. Whitton's collection flowers was much admired. The show will bo open again this afternoon and evening.
