THE ASSOCIATION GAME. His Worship the Mayor will kick off in the Association match Auckland v. Taranaki to-morrow in the Recreation Grounds. This is the usual practice in many towns in opening the season, and as this is the first big Association game yet plnyod here, the formal opening has been decided on. The Auckland team will arrive from North on Thursday morning, and will stay here until Saturday. They will be entertained at a dinner and smoke concert «fter the match.
