RELATION TO THE COMMONWEALTH. SYDNEY,' August 30. The Daily Telegraph, in urging the importance, strategically and otherwise, of the Solomons, after quoting Sir William McGregor's opinion that the islaruds were the natural dependencies of Australia, says the Commonwealth is bound to see that a ll .■easonable means are taken to conserve the interests of those settled in the Islands, which ale destined, in the ordinary course of events, to arise within its jurisdiction.
