The Governor.
(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCII, August Hi. There is glorious weather for (he reception of the Governor, and ver,\ widespread disappointment and regret is expressed that, owing to the late arrival of the Hinomoa the programme for the public reception had to bo modified.. A large muster of volunteers and cadets had to bo temporarily dismissed as the reception was postponed till 1.30.
The Vice-regal party was presentetl with an address of welcome in Cathedral Square, and then proceeded to the liiccurton racecourse.
Lord Plunkct and) party attended tho Hunt Club ball this evening. To-morrow morning bis Excellency will review tho public school cadets. A levoe will be hold in the afternoon, and an address presented by the Dean and Chapter and Standing Committoo of the Anglican Synod. In the evening his Excellency will attend the Savage Club's dance.
