Personal Notes.
Among recent callers at t/ve Agen-cy-General, London, was Mr John Senile, of New Plymouth. Mr W. H. Raworth Alist, who settled in New Zealand In the fifties, arriving with the " Canterbury Pilgrims," died nt Sydney yesterday. The address to tie presented to Lord Plunkct by tho Christchurch City Council is a model of brevity. It does not contain more than twenty lines. Mr A. Carrick, a well-known citizen of ChriatKhurch, and manager of the National Insurance Company's branch there, diicd yesterday after a long illness. Sir Joseph Ward is still confllppd to his house, suffering from a cold of a rather severo nature. It Is not likely that he will .be able to tako his seat in the House this week.
