MR J. C. WILLIAMSON'9 NEW COMEDY COMPANY. Probably no Australian manager has ever catered so lavishly for the theatre-going public of the colonies as Mr J. C. Williamson, and his new English comedy company may be written down amongst his most brilliant successes. He specially organised the ccjnpan«. during his recent visit to London in search of attractions of the first water, and "that his judgment in selection has been very heartily endorsed by his patrons is proved by the tremendous business which has made the tour a triumphal march of merriment from tho date of its commencement. •• The Marriage of Kitty," which is to be presented on Monday evening next, has been described by the Australian press as the dainticrt gem of comedy that has ever cheered tht hearts of a laughter loving public. " His Excellency the Governor" the comedy to be staged on the second and final night of the season het e is produced for the first time in Australasia during the company's present Auckland season. It is a piece with a great London reputation and its success in the colonies seems pretty well assured. It is significant of the progress of New Zealand that the leading management in Australasia has lately selected it for the first production of three of its newly-acquired playß, instead of producing them in Melbourno or Sydney as has formerly been tho practice. Mr H. H. Vincent, Mr Williamson's Associate Manager and one of the most famous London producers, has journeyed to New Zealand with the company solely for the pur-| pose of superintending and producing these two comedies, and for Mr Vincent to leave the lino's Australian theatres.and undertaking such a tour, proves the importance of the attractions upon which his master has been nt work. There should be crowded houses-on both occasions. The Itritish footballers will be present at the performance of "His Excellency tho Governor " on Tuesday evening.
