King, Edward started on a visit to Marienbad yesterday.. Mr J, C. George leaves tor. Wellington this morning. Viscount Cur2on of Kodlestono, has been re-appointed Viceroy of India, and sails in September. MrH. M. Bauchope will visit the Old Country shortly, probably leaving New Plymouth- October. Mr F. T. Bellrlnger, Town Clerk, will spomd his vacation in the northern districts, staying tt while in Auckland. The New Zealand Herald reports the death of another old identity of Auckland, on Saturday evening, in tho person of Mr J. C. MueCormick, of St. Martin's Lane, who in his earlier days was a very prominent and successful 'barrister. He had teen resident in Auckland since .1865. Mr Samuel left by train this (Thursday) morning for Wellington, where he will sit on Saturday next at, judge of the important racing appeal. He will proceed (1 0111 vvolu... ton to Ohristchurcli and appear there for the Taranaki Jockey Club in the Corrigian and Palridgo appeal racing case, after which he will attend the first meeting of the committee appointed by the Racing Conference to prepare new rules of racing. In connection with this task it is probable the committee will visit Dunedin.
