The Russian Press views theLhasSa expedition with ill-dirguised envy and regret, but the Novosti recommends the strengthenii»g of the An-glo-Russian understanding regarding Thibet, with a view to establishing the lost equilibrium apid preventing the development of the '•'Yellow Peril." The Fremdenblatt, a German journal says Thibet is now within the sphere of British influence. This will loose tiie bond between Thibet and China and prevent the actual supremacy of Britain. German newspapers declare that a new political era has dawned which is destined to close Tt&bet's halfopen northern door and open a southern one.
