Messrs 10. jr. Smith and W. T. Jennings, M's.H.K., arrived in New Plymouth on Saturday evening. A Wellington telegram announces tin-death of Mr John Cumin, for many years Crown law draughtsman, and author of (Inrnln's index. Deceased retired from the pubHe service in .189-1. Mr F. .). McDonald, late manager of the Aloa Dairy Factory at lnglewooil, has accepted a position with Messrs,!. 11. MaclOwan and Co. He proceeds to Dunedin this week, and will roprewnt the linn's machinery department between Invorcargill and Christchurch.
