MR JOSEPH MACKAY ELECTED A MEMBER. (Per Press Association.) _ WELLINGTON, August o. The result of the election for a representative of education boards of the middle district to fill the vacancy on the Victoria College Council, created by the resignation of Mr Seymour, •of Picton, was declared to-day. The voting was as follows Joseph Mackay (Stratford ... 24 Richard McCallum (Blenheim) 13 H. L. James (Wellington) ... 5 Mr Mackay, the successful candidate, was for many years principal of tils Wellington College.
