APPROACHING THE FORBIDDEN CITY. BOMBAY, July 01. The British forces have reacjhed the Karoola Pass, and are meeting with only a feeble resistance. The troops of the mission are now camped 92 miles from Lhassa. THIBETANS ABANDONING POSITIONS. (Received July 22, 10.9 p.m.) BOMBAY, July 22. The Thibetans abandoned walls and sangars, which they had taken weeks to build, without resistance, and took refuge in Four of the Thibetan leaders were killed. The monks are still trying to force tiie villagers to fight.
