Wellington Improvements

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 20. A poll of ratepayers of tiho Melrose Ward of Wellington city was taken to-day on proposals of the City Council to borrow sums aggregating £110,500 for tramway extension and street improvements. The proposals were carried by large majorities, the voting being Tramway loan (£77,000) For, 659 ; against, 127. Streets (£33,500)—F0r, 634; against, 156.
