Sir Willi n m MacGregor, Governor [of Lagos, has hi en appointed Governor of Newfoundland. The Premier, who states that he bus been much refreshed by his visit lo Auckland, left tliere yesterday ' morning for Wellington, via New Plymouth and Wangunui, by the Hinemoa.. Te Hi'ti Ngataki, known as Pnrakau, chief of tho Ngatiamuru and Ngatlkau tribes, and the oldest and leading of all the living Wuilttito chiefs, died on Saturday from pneumonia. He was about 65 years old. and was'a distaht 1 uncle of King Mahuta.
