The monthly meeting- of the abowi board was held on Wednesday, the members present ■lmping Mr B'. Turnhull (chairman), Messrs Conni't l, (Jox-head, French anil ilellier. CorrespoiKkwe was read from the Treasury, slating- timl Worthy Road loan would hi' grunted subject to Unnecessary steps being taken ; from Land and Incomo Tax -Bepartmcnt, forwarding application form for subsidy ; from Messrs Obeli anil Muckay, re survey of deviation on Kelly Hoad ; from Survey Department re removal of survey pegs ; and' from Agricultural Department, forwarding list of noxious .weeds added to second schedule, of the Act, and renucsting the board to adopt tho second schedule of the Act by special order. It was resolved that a general rate of |d in the £ be struck for the emsuing year. Messrs Turribull and French were nppoinkd to sign the ratebook. The clerk -reported that there I would lie a Btini of £425 available. for tho deviation of Te Arei Boad I

It \v a s resolved that tho district be div ded into two parts, and that each surfaceman liavo control of and report on work to ho done on roads in Ida respective district ; tho Kelly Hoik! to tho To Arei Road, and ■hi nee to Waion(romi Hiver, and I hence to the mouth of the same, to he the dividing line. The special ordrf levying spuciiil rate on Kelly itoad No. '2 special rating district was confirmed. It, was resolved that the hoard lake no further action with regard to the purchase of Hr P. Hosßin's gravel pit. The clerk was directed to apply for u subsidy from (lover.nment towards metalling Wortley Howl. Tho Chairman reported that he and Mr French had attended the county council meeting re the deviation of Te Arei Road, and had agreed to accept tho terms ottered by the council. Mr Little's offer of £7 and £3 for pieces of land on each sido of the Waionguna River taken for the deviation of Te Arei Ktmd was accepted, to include the old road in each case ; all expenses of transfer to be borne by the board. The clerk was instructed to write to Jlr Hoy to proceed with the same, also to complete the transfer from 11. Bowman to the ■board of land taken for Kelly Road deviation.
