HOMEBUSH SALES, (Received July 14, 10.23 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 14. At Homebush sheep were a little firmer. Best wethers made 20s (kl, good 18s 6d..ewes 21s 6d, good 17b 2d. Cattle were steady. Best bullocks £ll, good £lO ss, best cows £B, good £7 10s ibesf tieef 24s 6d. HIDES, TALLOW, Etc. MELBOURNE, Ju.y 14. Tallow.—Locul rates declined fully 5s per ton. Cattle.—At. the Newmarket yards on Tuesday there was a moderate yarding of dairy and store stock, and an average supply of beef. Dairy cows realised from £4 10s to £t«, empty do. £2 10s to £4 7s, calves £1 8s to £2 13s, fat steers £(i os to £lO 17s 6d, fat cows £4 10s to £7 17s 6d. We quote ox beef at 28s and cow 18s to 22s per 1001b.
Sheep.—Were yarded in average numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday, and met good competition. Fat wethers made from 15s 3d to 23s 9d, fat ewes 13s 9d to 20s 9d, hoggets 7s Gd to 13s 9d.
Pigs.—Porkers sold from 19s 3d to £1 17s, weaners 5s (id to 15s. At Papakura on Wednesday there waa a largo muster of all" classes of stock. The yarding of dairy cows waS a record" one for the time of the year, 300 odd being ofterod. Sales were made of dairy cows from £4 10s to £9 15s, backward do. £4 10s to £8 12s Gd, backward heifers £3 15s .to £6 10s, empty ccws £2 5a to £3 17s Gd, calves £1 5s to £2 lis, 2 to 3 year old steers|£4 10s to £5 15s, beef at Newmarket rates. We submitted an extra large catalogue of hides, skins, tallow, etc., on Tuesday. Hides.—Market same as last week. We quote : Extra stout ox 6?d to 7d, .stout do. GJd to 6|d, medium do. 5Jd to sfd, light do. 4Jd to sd, cow, best lines 4}d, good 4sd, scored and cut 3Jd to 4d, stags 2jd to 3id, kip 4d to 4Jd, calfskins 5Jd. cut 4d to 4}d. Tallow.—Market dull, best tallow, in shipment casks, sold at 18s, broken casks and packages 16s to 17s Gd, rough fat J }d to ljd. Bones.—£s.
Hors«ha|ir.—la to Is 3d. Tails, Is od. Wool\-In bags and bales, crossbred Gd to GJd, culls 5d to s|d, pieces 3jd to ojd, locks 2Jd to 3{d. Maize.—Heavy arrivals this week have weakened the market.
Oats. —The southern market is very strong at recent advance. B grade cannot be supplied under Is 11 Jd delivered ex store.
Chaff.—ln keen demand at lato rates.
Potatoes. Market ''lull, and' no improvement in prices to report. Butter.—ln very short supply, Prices remain firm for all grades" Cheeao.—Dull of Bale. No alteration In prices
