tHESOLUTIONS FROM CHRISTCHURCH. /Per Press Association.) -■CHBISTCHURCH, July 18. At i public meeting to-night, presided over by the Mayor, and attended by about three hundred people, the subject of child-life preservation was discussed by eight speakere. The following resolutions were carried : —That;the subject of child lifo in New Zealand demands immediate and serious attention, and without committing itself to all Mr Sneddon's proposals t/ho meeting desires 4 to record its deep sense of gratitude ■ to him for Jiis'memorandum oa tho subject;* that the various Acts ol tha New Zealand Legislature dealing with orphan, criminal and pthor children dependent on public aid roand consolidation on lines SO long urged tty the Children's Aid'. Society ; that Government Inspection should be extended to all private institutions having the care of children, and that it is desirablu that more stringent regulations be formulated in respect of illegitimacy and the adoption of children ; that the Premier be respectfully requested to introduce a bill into Parliament emjjodying tho sufifeiestioiis made py the Children's Aid Society.
