THE PAHIATUA VACANCY. So far four candidates have officially announced themselves for th« Pahiatuaseat, namely, Messrs J. S. Williams (Liberal), and W. Crewe (Loheral), S. Bolton (Opposition), W. H. Hawkins (Independent). Mr Bolton starts the campaign at Woodville to-day.

The Stud Bill, introduced by the Minister of Agriculture, provides for toe licensing' of stallions after examination by two veterinary surgeons.
Mr Millar on Mr, Smith :" I can. remember the time when he would iKtve been proud to be named as one of the labour party, but like everyone who goes to London, he has come back altered. I guarantee that if he goes to London once more ho will come back the rankest Tory of **«n all"
The Opunake Times says Mr J. Boddie, president of tho Taranaki , executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, is mentioned as a protf»He candidate for the Egmont constituency at the next general election. The Stratford Post says that Hr Boddie will contest the Patea eeat against Mr Symes. The Elitham Argus understands that it is quite possible that Mr Doddio will stand for election at the next general, .eleotipn, hut j» <Wtokt.o .announcomest has yet been mad*.
