The first to break tho line were Fiddlestrlng and African, followed by Springfield, Tom, and Idalia, and Tom took command at tho bridgo with Springfield next, and ho led past sheds, wlieit Tho Grafter fell. Tom came to grief at j the treble, leaving Springfield as pacemaker to Idalia, Africa, Loi'don, and Piddlestrings; but be soon gave place to Syringa, with Loddoit and Idalia as his nearest attendants. At the abattoirs Springfield again went to the front, followed by Syringa, Loddon, and Idalia. Loddoa fell at the next jump and then The General appoared oil tho scene, and soon assuming the lead, le« into tho straight from Laiiiond, Syringa and Springfield.
