Wesleyan Church Meeting

The yuarlerly meeting of ollicials of the Methodist Church of the New Plymouth circuit was held lust night in the Wlutclcy Hull, .Rev. J. N. Jiuttle presiding. Tlie balance-sheet showed that the income had exceeded the expenditure liy i;jO 8s Ud. Keports from Sunday schools were most encouraging, and the one at Okato has been re-opened. Arrangements were made for various gatherings, including a concert at South Jioad on the 11th hist, in aid of enlargement scheme, a choir social on the loth insft., a welcome tea to Kev. Turirbull, the new Coast missionary, on the :27th inst., and a home missionary meeting in August. A resolution of appreciation of the work and charade* of Kev. J. 11. Whity and family was unanimously adopted. In connection with the commencement of regular .Sunday evening services at South Koad, Mr Kudkin was appointed steward. I Kevs. Williams and Tuni'bull, home missionaries, were welcomed by the meeting and each .briefly responded. A petition wus signed opposing the I granting of licenses in the Cook Islands and various otlier mutters of interest to the church were dealt with.
