Fighting in Shin-king. RECONNOITRING WORK. LONDON, July 6. The Russians officially report heavy reconnoitring skirmishes north ' and north-west, and south-west oil Mo-tien-ling on Monday. There were I two hundred Russian casualties. THE ENCOUNTER AT MO-TIEN LING. LONDON, July 6. Later details of the lighting at Mo-tien-ling show that it was a stubborn hand to hand encounter, bayonet's being freely used. The Japanese were first to force the attack, and they ultimately compelled the Russians to retire from Ltung-hze Pass. Many officers, including three colonels and General Lexhietsky, the commander, were wounded. The " Russian surgeons and Chaplain Kemszzoff displayed remarkable devotion. They attended the wounded under a violent lire, and personally removed the injured. Everything indicates that the Russians will be gradually confined ulong the railway. The Japanese have fortified Tailing Pass. , KILLED ON OUTPOST. July 7, 10.32 p.m.) LONDON, July 7. The majority of the wounds sustained by Japanese on the 4th at Mo-tien-ling were from bayonet thrusts. The Russians surrounded their outposts, but the latter fought until relieved. Nineteen Japanese were killed, and thirty-eight woundk ed. Russian losses were mostly sustained during the pursuit. A GREAT BATTLE PROCEEDING.
ISOLATING MUKDEN. (Received July 7, 11.34 p.m.) LONDON, July 7. The Daily Telegraph correspondent at Liao-ytuig reports that a great tattle is proceeding twenty-live miles from there. * The Japanese are continuing imttdvance with the intention of cutting off Mukden.
