A telegram was read from the Governor's aide-de-camp notifying .his Excellency's acceptance of the position of patron of the exhibition ; uud Sir Joseph Ward, lions. T. V. Duncan and C. .11. Mills accepted positions of vice-presidents.

After a great deal of discussion on the matter of a conceit hull, the present suggested position of which would act detrimentally on the an committee's lighting arrangements, Mr Skinner moved, and Mr M. J. Jones seconded, That the building oi a concert hull in the exhibition buildings is unnecessary. Mr Ambury moved, and Mr Staples seconded pro forma. That in order for the musical committee to properly carry out its plans and provide necessary entertainments it is desirable that a concert hall be built ut the exhibition. Tiie amendment was carried. Mr Watkin's name was added to the art committee. Mr Skinner read a. letter from Kahili, chieftain of Ngatihaupoto tribe, on the niclter of the Maori village and demonstration. Mr Lennon stated that Mr Allen, secretary of the Wellington Industrial Association, had given him valuable assistance in 'Wellington, und bad offered to act us agent for the exhibition at u charge of live per cent, on space sold.—A vote of thanks was tendered him, and his offer uccepted. Mr Alexander read a letter from a prominent Auckland artist, stating tlhat few artists would exhibit unless all freights und other expenses were paid each way. It was unusual to charge for the wall space occupied. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. The executive committee met subsequently, and received suggestions from Mr F, E. Hardy, secretary oi the New Zealand Axemen's Association, on the matter of holding u chopping and sawingj carnival by night.

A committee, consisting of Messrs Hat-dy, Jay, Amlbury and Goodacro was set up to visit the grounds anil report further.

A vote of thanks to Mr Hardy wus carried by acclamation. Mr P. B. Hoss, on behalf of the swimming sports committee, submitted a draft programme of Uie sports suggested to be run under the control of the Now Plymouth Swimming Club. The prize-money amounted to £57, and the nominations and acceptances would probably amount to £2O.

The Swimming committee will bo usked to report moro fully on the Cost of putting on the sports. Mr Amb'ury moved ,and Mr Collis seconded, That tire chairman of the executive and exhibition committees waited on tho Recreation Grounds Uonra to make necessary arrangements.—Carried.
