Native Land Settlement!
»_ (Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, July 4, The Native Minister and the Minister for Lands held a conference with the Native Council on Saturday re , settlement of the Ohotu Wock. containing over a quarter of a million I acres. The owners of 70,000 acres have placed lands in the hands of the council for lease, aral some time ago sections were offered for 21 |years with the right of renewal for a ifurthor 21, 'but only three sections \fcre taken up. On the advice of the Motive Minister, the council decided ti> offer the land on perpetual lease, w.i th periodical revaluation. The Native Land Court is dealing with the inatter to-day.
