—Electric Light, Tenders.— The council Uietufconsidered the tenders for insteifng the electric light. In answer to ll« Mayor, Mr Mestuyer stated tint the electric light tenders were for the supply and delivery of all mucAinery and materials, and the mctiun of live electric lighting system in full running order, as sift out iji thr plans und specilications, and maintaining the same for lihree months after erection. S ten art and Fenn (Auckland), £0991 Is. N.Z. Electrical Construction Co. (Chrislchufch), £758(3. l'almer and Co. (Wellington), £B,457 2s, —Heservoir Tenders.— Tenderp for erecting the reservoir for the. new waterworks were then considered. It was decided that Mr Mestayer draft a special clause defining the broken metul to be used in place of ■gravel specified, and that Messrs Boon Bros, and Pikett and Co. be asked to submit a fresh tender on such clauses. The council then adjourned to 4 p.m. on Mond«y when Messrs Pikott and Co.'s tender of £3500 4s 6d for the reservoir was accepted,, the council feeling that it had no option but to adhere to the original specification. The acceptance in subject to such deductions as may uo arranged between the engineer and the contractors for substitution of •JTroken metal for gravel in concrete. Messrs liowo and i'uterson's tender for a snpply of G art on oats at 2s 2d per bushel was accepted. W. J. Smith will be employed temporarily at tho waterworks during the illness of the waterworks assistant.
