Mr G. F. Watts, the well known artist, is dead, a London cable states, at tho age of 87. Sydney coMe advices state that Sir George ])ib'bs, tho one-time prominent politician, is seriously ill. A private cable received in Nelson announces tho death in Loudon of Mr David Sciondcrs, aged 90. He was one of tho pioneer merchants of the colony. Mr 11. D. Coutts, District Valuer, Te ICuiti, has i>eceived instructions to revise the values In the Mdkau Riding of the Clifton County, and afterwards do similar work in Kawhia and Awakino.
