Fire at Eltham.

(Per Press Association.) ELTHAM, June 21. W. J. Carry's Commercial stables &t Eltham were totally destroyed by fire at four o'clock this morning. It Was one of the largest livery stujl/les in Taranaki, being 180 by 50 feet, and containing forty stalls, numerous loose boxes, and carriage and More-rooms. The horses were got out safely, and also all rolling stock, with the exception of one carriage. Nearly all the harness was destroyed, also considerably over £IOO worth of horse feed. The Athenacum Hall and suites of offices were saved with great difficulty by the fire brigade. Insurances : £SOO on the building and £BOO on the Stock in the Manchester. Tlie building cost £7OO about six months loss on s ' tock is estimated at *4OO over insurance.
