FRENCHMAN WINS GORDON BEN- | NETT RACE, (Received June 19, 10.25 a.m.) BLCRLIN, June 18. England. France, Austria, Italy, Belgium and Germany, alter preliminary trials, were each represented by three competitors in the Gordon Bennett motor car race, run on the Saahjurg-Tminus circuit of 87 J miles, winch had to he covered four times. Opel (Germany) had an early breakdown, and Edge i England) retired at the end of tile third round owing to lyre troubles. Al. Tilery (France), with an 80 h.p. llickarcilirasser car, won, covering the tlistaace in 5 hours .'>t;iuin liscc Jcnielz (Germany), with a 9u h.p. jiiercedes cur, was second, in lib lintn, and He L'aiers tlierjuuny), with u >JO h.p. .Mercedes car, was third, in Oh. 4om n lsec. The three French car.s succeeded in finishing the race, and won the -Montague team prize. 't'he Kaiser and Kaiserin were present.
