A New Industry.
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIX, June 19. 'lhc Taipo Explosive Syndicate's works at Deborah Bay were favourably oixiiu:l on Saturday. A party of about fifty proceeded from DuneJin by steamer to the new works, through which they were shown, and afterwards a number of sj)eukers, among whom were Mr J. A. Miliar M.H.R., Hon W. Bolt, 11.L.C, the Mayors of Dunedin and Port Chalmers, Messrs T. R. Christie and Demans, offered congratulations to the promoters on the establishment of a new industry and wished it everv ■ucccss. A beginning is to be made at once with the manufacture of the explosive. The company holds the 'ights for New Zealand and Tasmania, and a syndicate is being, formed n Melbourne to secure the rights for Victoria.
