(Per Tress, Association). GISBORNE, June 17. Before leaving Gisborne last evenng tho Premier expressed sutisfacion at having seen the local railway in operation, and stated that .>« hoped to nee it extend and connected with the railway system of the colony, lie thought tho district from its progress of settlement, increased population, and abundant resources was entitled to such conntctdon.
