Alleged Libel.

(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Juno 15. The libel case Finlay v. Spencer, arising out of a circular connected with the transfer of the Perseverance Gold Dredging Co.'s head oflice from Alexandra to Dunodin, was concluded to-day, ten of the jury finding a verdict for the defendant. The jury found that a portion of the circular issued, stating that plaintiff had ''concluded this business in an underhand manner," was true in substance and fact; that the allegations in another paragraph did not refer to plaintiff, nor did it impute misconduct, to him ; and that defendant in writing and publishing the circular was not actuated by actual malice against the plaintiff. Costs were allowed n9 per scale on tho alnoiiiit cUiiind.
