Mr Charles Clayton says :—" There nre plenty of places throughout New Zealand where mills are plated with nothing like the timber and prospects that the bush in question possesses, and the great facilities and advantages for working it." The object should be first to deal with tho puriri, as the Government Railway Department offer an in.modiate market for sleepers in any quantity. This bush has been sought after for the last 25 years, but the difficulty In dealing with the natives hat hitherto been insuperable. Tho N.Z. Herald supplement recently contained a notice of tho excellent quality of the timber on thiß land. It is estimated that there is ample timber to furnish a supply tor 20 or HO years.
