SUFFERINGS OF SOLDIERS. PARIS, May 31. General Andre, French Minister for War, speaking in tho Chamber of Deputies, said he regretted giving sanction to the recent soldiers' walking trial, which was organised hy the newspaper Le Matin. In the shade the temperature was 80. The only refreshments were iced drinks. Eighty men are ill, mostly lrom heat and over-exertion. Some in their delirium persisted in attempts to walk, and had to be forcibly prevented. Thirty-five are in hospital.
