A Romantic Story.

(Per Press Association.) Cr-IHISTCHI'RCH, May 30. The Press this morning published a long sensational story about a girl, aged 15 years, who, after living in Christcluinah nearly all her life, was restored to her true parents—wealthy residents of Freniantle. Ever : incc the child disappeared the parents had unsuccessfully endeavoured to iind in whose possession she was, nit hough they knew she was living in Chiistchurch. The guardian of the child became suspicious, nud kept a very strict eye on the child. Eventually the parents learned where she was living, and communicated with a clergyman connected with the Sunday school tho girl attended. Careful arrangements to get the girl away were made by her friends, and one morning, instead of going to work as usual, sho caught tho express to Dunedin, to Join a boat for Melbourne. At tho Bluff s,he received a telegram from her late guardian, Baying she was to return at once. At Hobart another plan to detain her miscarried, and at last she reached lier parents in Fremantle. It appears that when the child was an infant the mother was forced .by circumstances to leaverW-at Hobart with a womffrPin whose house she was staying. The woman became attached.to the infant, and disappeared, taking the child with her.
