Whiteley Church.

RAND OF HOPE MEETING. Tho usual monthly meeting of tho above Band of Hope was held this evening. There, was an excellent attendance and great interest was taken in the proceedings both by the adults present and the young people. I Tho following took part in the programme : Songs by Miss Ooodacre and Mr do Lais ; recitations, Eileen McGnhey, U-e liullot, Willie Itrunsgrove, Mudgo FSnllot, Edie Uransgrove, Ethel Bransgirove, Muriel Oliver, and Mr R. F. Williams. Two short but effective addresses- were given by Messrs V. Gritliths and (!. Christopher, setting forth the evil consequences of indulgence in strong drink. The chairman (Rev. J N llutlle) referred to the evil effects of cigarette smoking amongst boys, and urged the adoption of the smoking pledge. A most successful meeting was brought to a cfose in the usual manner.
