Missing.
A man named Clarke, employed at tlw New Plymouth Sash and Door Co.'s Egmont Koad sawmills, has been missing since Sunday. Search parties have been out, but no trace has been found of the man, who, it is beKeved, has " cleared out," in the language of people in the locality. Clarke is described as an American sawmiller, about 55 years of age, about sft lOin in height, slightly built and delicate looking, with a stoop, greyish hair and beard. When last seen he was dressed in shabby dark grey clothes, with an old slouch hat. He was well known in Stratford and New Plymouth. Yesterday Constable Melscpp, who is temporarily in charge of the Inglewood police station, was out with a party of searchers, but, as with others who had scoured the country, the quest had no satisfactory result.;
