SEAMEN'S WAGES.
CONFLICTING SCALES FOR PAYMENT. LONDON, May .12. Four seamen belonging to the ship Islesworth have summoned Mr Watts, ship-owner, at the Mansion House, for wages, alleging that tho captain agreed to pay coastal wages on the colonial scale while in Australian waters. The defence urged that the captain acted without authority, without consideration, and under practical compulsion. The summons was dismissed. Notice of appeal was given.
