PAYMENT OF COMMONERS DEFEATED. LONDON, May 13, In the House of Commons Mr Hentier son (Labour member for Durham) moved, and -Mr Penwick (liberal) member for Northumberland) seconded, u resolution in favour of tho payment of a stipend to Commoner* and returning olliccrs' expenses. Tho motion was negatived by 221 to 155. Sir Edward Orey (Liberal) supported the motion. • The Wight Hon. A. Gramup-Mur-ray (Secretary for Scotland) dwlar.
