Messrs A. W. Meeks and F. E. Winchcombe have been elected directors of the A.M.P. Society.
Mr Crick, New South Wales At-torney-General, sailed from Sydney yesterday by the Waikare for Auckland. His mission is to confer with Sir John See (Premier) on the political situation.
One more of the fast thinning littln band of "early settlers" has been removed by the grim lyjnd of death. Yesterday, at her residence in Devon Street East, Mrs Rhoda Pitt died at the advanced age of 70 years. The deceased lady was the widow of the late Mr Henry Pitt, who predeceased her some years, and was a wellknown figure in New Plymouth. She had been in poor health for some time. Two sons, Messrs G. and S, Pitt, and a daughter, Mra Emery', are left to mourn their loss.
