Dunedin Tramways.

(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 11

At the City Council meeting tonight a committee reported on the working of the electric tramway. The report showed that during the four months the system had been in operation there wus a loss of £765. It was decided to dispense with the services of several men and reduce expenditure by £6 15s per day.

Councillors were confident that when the whole system is completed it will pay handsomely. At prison t the loss on dead stock is £385 per month. It is hoped that when the conference takes place with the committee of the CttVersham Council the present deadlock will be speedily ended, and the work of construction of the remainder of the system will be allowed to proceed.
