A communication from the Kailway .Department stated thut cluta had to guarantee 40 travelling, but there was only seuting accommodation in the carriages provided for about 34. The remainder could go into oilier carriages. Chrisl church officials stated they saw no sign of drunkenness on any of the men.
After consideration of the evidence it was resolved that the coinmlUoo was of opinion there was no proof of misconduct on the part of the footballers of the Alhambra and Union 1.. ins culling for punishment, and thut ihe men be therefore exonerated.
A committee was appointed to consider whether an Otago team should travel north before or after the visit of the English team, atld also to arrange suitablo dates for the visit of a Wanganul team.
It is stated that a football match between teams representing the Moturoa Lodge of Druids and Kgmont Lodge of Oddfellows is on tlio tapis.
