Advices received from Port Darwin state that nine Chinese who arrived by the Chingtu were refused aamis•ion by the Federal authorities and placed aboard the Changsha for deportation. Acting on instructions from the South Australian Government a force of police boarded the latter vessel and forcibly removed the Chinese ashore. The Federal Minister for External Affairs intends to make an example of the lawbreakers, as he states that Federal law supersedes State legislation on the subject.
