CUP MATCHES. IKIiLEWOOD v. ST.YK. This match was played at Ingl»wood on Thursday and resulted In o win for StiU\s by 20 points to 12, after a very fast game, in faet too fast for some of the men on both sides. Ing'lewood lost A. McLean soon'after starling, he having sprained his ankle and they had to play one man short ior the rest of the game, the rules not allowing them to take on another man. Kivell (Star) scored a try, which was not converted. Soon afterwards Allen secured a mark, Stroud placing a beautiful goal. Towards the tsiid of the first spell Allen scored a grand try, Stroud adding the major points. In -the second spell Kivell and Cullender Scored tries, Stroud converting one. For lnglewood, lJn.vid.soii and Harper scored tries, Abbott converting one. lie also placed a goal from a mark secured by Harper. The game wus fast and open all through, but the Star backs were too good for lnglewood, who should endeavour to tackle better and take the men low, The forwards were very evenly matched, and the lnglewood pack with a bit more practice will be hard to beat. For the winners, L. Allen and Humphries were the pick of the backs, and Allen, Ilyan and Stokes in the forwards. For lnglewood Abbott and Harvey played the best game, and Davidson, Street and Pudney played best in the forwards. SECOND (JIUDK. The match lnglewood v. Stratford played at Stratford was won by Stratford by a potted goal to nil. lnglewood played a very in and oui. kind of a game, and still require a lot more practice.
